Self Esteem Sunday #4: Look After Yourself.

Hello loverrrrlies!

Sorry I'm late (again)
I feel like i'm drowning in a world that is University, dissertation and word counts!

This ones been something really appropriate this week, I've really been looking at myself!
I'm going to you my 1, 2, 3 & 4 of looking after yourself!

1. Eat Well
NUTRIENTS!
Seriously, i'm not for cutting every bit of bad food out your diet!
But just try and eat a bit more lettuce here, some carrot there.
Yano?
Just try and fill your body with some good stuff, your skin looks better, your hair is stronger, you'll seriously benifit!

2. Look after yourself
Shave those legs once in a while!
Wash your hair more often, whatever it takes!
Hygiene is key to feelings great about yourself!

3. Exercise
Seriously, it releases hormones that just makes you feel great.
You don't have to do anything crazy,
Find something you enjoy, I play squash every Saturday and I love it!
Go for walks, whatever you want!

(and lastly)
4. Be free!
Work and life drag us down.
Some of the most important days of our life are the ones we can let go of all our worries!

OOTD | Inspired By Mum | House Of Fraser Competition

So hey!
Bit of a different post today, really don't know how its gunnah go down.
But; I was recently contact by House Of Fraser to participate in an "inspired by mum" look,
There where so many angles I could of took for this, and all of the other entries are just beautifully put together!

But... After a lot of thinking, I decided to take on of my mums outfits and re-create it myself.

TO THE OUTFIT:

I chose this really cheeky outfit of my mum!
She was about 17 at the time, attending a game fair with my Dad in Western Park during summer of 1987!

And I felt SO nervous posting this because its so cheeky haha!
Sorry guys. I understand you don't want to see this much of my leg, but I wanted it to be authentic & trust me, I was a bit worried haha.
But I just LOVED the outfit she was wearing, I can't believe how stylish it is and how similar our tastes must be!
I so desperately wish she'd kept her wardrobe.

Definitely should have covered a bit more leg....

My outfit:

||Skirt: New Look | Blouse: Vintage | Glasses: Specsavers | Bag: Vintage | Watch: eBay | Shoes: Misguided ||

(Yes the photo's have a "vintage filter", this is the only bit of editing)

Part of the blogging challenge was to find a piece that would complete your "inspire by mum" outfit from House of Fraser, and BOY did I find it!
The one thing I didn't have similar to my mum was those pretty shoes!

I knew I wouldn't struggle because there is SO much to offer from HOF, but, I can honestly say , hand over heart, I have NEVER loved a pair of shoes like this.

Next payday, these ARE MINE.

The lace ups, the cut out. Miss KG have really won me over.
& the brand means the quality would just be outstanding, they'd last for many summers to come.

I love my mum so much, we've been through thick and thin together (literaly)
We've both been through so much, and I can talk to her about anything I want to.
I mean, anything.
We're so alike and sometimes that scares me,
but my mum is such a kind, warmhearted person who would do anything for anyone,
& if that means I'm like her, then I'm happy!

I absolutely LOVED doing this post, thank you House Of Fraser!

Self Esteem Sunday #3: Practice Good Karma.

I took this picture and added my favourite lyrics from Noah & The Whale - Blue Skies

Not so long ago, I had a counselling session on the massive load of guilt I used to carry around with me.
(I have a serious, serious guilt complex)
I was told in my session I had two choices.

Choice 1: Repent your actions. Find out what you feel most bad about and say sorry. Apologize what you did to those you hurt.

Choice 2: Imagine you are placing down every single piece of guilt you have ever felt, and walk out the room and leave it there. Realize that you're sorry for these actions and it's okay to move on and focus on your future.

I chose a bit of both.
I told a few people how much I appreciated them, and I apologized to a few to,
For other things, I let them go, I walked out the room and I left them there. For good.
It's actually easier than you might think, as long as you realize that it's okay to move past this and focus on your future.

Letting go of the past lifts a large weight of your shoulders.
For me, the guilt I was feeling made me feel like a bad person, I felt bad inside and it reflected on my exterior. I felt low, I felt ugly for the things I'd done.

Walking out the room I can honestly say I felt such a relief come over me.

Furthermore, DO GOOD.
Help that old man pick up the change he dropped on the floor,
Buy that homeless man a nice sandwich or cup of tea...
Even tell your bestie how great they look and how pretty they are.

Doing good things makes you feel good, on the inside and the out.

So even if, this week, you just tell someone how much they mean to you, you'll feel much, much better for it.

Spring has sprung

I put my sunglasses over my camera lense and took a picture, I'm so cool it scares me!
Today, I used my initiative (woah woah I know, scary),
Frustrated with being stuck in the flat in this gorgeous weather, I printed my readings off, and sat on the sea front doing my University work.
GENIUS.

I think it's so vital to get out when us brits have a bit of sun,
Must admit i've seen many to bums and tums out already though!
I haven't eaten anything "bad" for me (as in snacks) for over a week,
So I definitely deserve this treat!
Yumyum!

Are you enjoying the sun?

P.S, This is my 200th post! WOO.

OOTD | Crazy Cat Lady.

|| Tee: Topshop | Skirt: New Look | Hoodie: Topshop | Shoes: Topshop ||

Have I ever loved a tee this much?
Naaaaaah.
My NASA tee comes close,
But Tee & Cake have done it again.
I think I could just own shares in their company.

I feel like my face looks unlike me in all these shots.

So, My name is Kelly and I like cats. Alot.
I sort of feel like i'm in a support group when I say that!
Like there is some sort of stigma on being a crazy cat obsessed lady?

Anyway, this is how I styled this beauty. I think it'll look amazing with my Levi's to :)

Do you have an obsession?

Self-Esteem Sunday #2 | Have A Dress Up Day.

I love being a girl, I love painting my nails and doing my hair.
But it seems like I rarely have time to really put a great amount of effort into my appearance at the minute....
Yet, it does wonders for my confidence.

So I say, set your alarm an hour earlier, or wait until a day off....
And DO IT.

Paint your nails,
Blow dry and curl your hair,
Wear your prettiest dress,
Try a bold lipstick shade....
Do anything that makes you feel pampered and pretty.

And take a million selfies!

Try every different angle and then find out what you love in each photo,
Does your hair look great? Do you love your eyes?

For Example
Photo 1: I like how I don't have a parting, it suits my face shape.
Photo 2: I like my lips. One of few things I really do like on my face, but I acknowledged I like them, and I feel vein about it, but that's okay. It's okay to like parts of ourselves and you most definitely shouldn't feel vein about it!
Photo 3: My eyes here like particularly striking, I quite like this.

Make sure you find something you really like about yourself in each and every photo.
Because, the secret is, you ARE beautiful, you just can't see it.
By picking out points you like, you can realize that hey, its not all bad! There are parts of yourself that you can like to.

Share you're photo's, let the world know how beautiful you are!

I'd love for you to comment on this post telling my what your favourite part of yourself is! Don't be shy!

Self-Esteem Sunday #1: Find Something You Enjoy

Hello pretty people!
So this is the start of my new mini-series
"Self-Esteem Sunday"

You can see the post that sparked this here,
Each week I hope to write about steps i'm taking to boost my self esteem whilst trying to inspire other to do the same.
If you try it out and post about it please do let me know!

So, my first post is all about finding something you enjoy, and/or are good at.
For me, finding a talent was something I really struggled with.
Not necessarily because I "wasn't good at anything", but more because I dind't think I Was good at anything.

So for me, I just pursued things I really enjoyed doing, and the more I shared what I enjoyed, the more I realized I actually wasn't half bad at it.
People where actually admiring me for my hobby and it made me feel great.

So I enjoy drawing, but you could be great at helping friends, being a good person or
Thing is, even if your not great at something, doing something you enjoy gives you a sense of identity and can boost self-esteem from simply having a hobby you enjoy.

So why not give it a try?

I did. And it made me feel great!

What are you're hobbies and interests?
