Life Lately.

Sooooooooooooooooooooo,
This happened.

As of September, I will be on a Primary Schools Direct (which is a PGCE) course in the beautiful Torbay.
I'm ridiculously excited.
But I'm also really terrified, an hour commute and a lot of early mornings is incredibly daunting.
There was only 20 spaces available so I feel SO lucky, and honoured!

I need to pass two tests before I can "finalise" my place.
I passed the English test (GO ME)
But, the maths is soo, so difficult and maths is just a really ridiculous subject
(Okay well its sorttttt of important)
But its still my biggest weakness and my test is Tuesday and I may just have a mental break down.
I. DON'T. DO. TESTS.

That aside, my dissertation is underway and things are getting reeeeaaaal serious about now.
I. Am. Growing. Up.
EEP.

It also means I need to learn how to drive (awks)
And buy a car,
and insure it,
by September.

In other news, I brought some chunky pink jelly sandals from New Look for a bargain price and i'm absolutely in love love looove.
Except a post soon.

How's your life going?
Any big changes?

Size 12 Is NOT Fat... Is it?

I'm not one to post controversial posts about my opinions, I'm normally keep my blog clean and debate free.
But, I recently read something, and it's been on my mind a lot...

This person posted a picture of Kelly Brook, naming her under a "fat" title....
This person went on to describe some really upsetting and hurtful opinions on being "fat"...
There was much more but I don't feel the need to go into detail.

The point is, I was actually hurt.
I am ridiculously insecure about my weight, someday's I go out and feel like everyone is staring at my figure and judging me. I had a friend calling me "chubby" and it broke my heart, but I always felt like blogging was a community where everyone was accepted.

*I understand this post is a reflection on my own insecurities and not a reflection of a single blogger causing my insecurities...*

I've been trying to lose weight since January,
I know i'm chubby the word fat, really?
I eat clean, ridiculously clean, above you can see the picture of my breakfast smoothie mix each morning.
I exercise a lot around a busy schedule.
But it just isn't shifting...

Why are we so obsessed with numbers?
I see size 18's who look absolutely stunning and beautiful.
I see size 6's and see exactly the same.
Why is our society making women such as me refuse to eat because she fears the looks she'll get on the street.

And why is it all safe hate? I see other people and they're beautiful, yet me? I can't stand my reflection.
Sometimes I won't even let my other half touch me I feel that disgusting,
I blame myself for becoming so caught up in this world of body image, if I eat healthy, exercise regularly, shouldn't I be beautiful?

I think something really needs to change...
Society needs to accept that EVERYONE is beautiful.
And I think that needs to start with myself.
I'm going to work on my confidence a lot.
I think we should all practice a healthy lifestyle, (with some treats mixed in) and love our body's for the beautiful things they are.

Over the next few weeks I want to write about how I'm working on my confidence and share my journey with you, maybe I can help you build your confidence at the same time?
Maybe you can help me with some tips?
I'm thinking of calling it a "Self-Esteem Sunday",
Each week I'm going share something to break this stereotype and try and prove we can all feel beautiful.

Wish me luck guys.

Kelly.

Fashionably Fit With SportsShoes.com

I think one of the key themes already running through 2014 is the big health kick hitting us all, it's in the tabloids, plastered on TV, and even on many of our blogs!

I know i've bitten by the health bug, one the things i'm most insecure about is by body figure and it's something I'm able to change.. So 2014 will be the year!
I've been eating clean for a while now, but I just needed something to kick start my work outs.
and boy did I get it! ;)

These little beauties are from SportsShoes.com and retail at £74.99
You can find the link for the Nike 5.0's here.
SportsShoe are supporting the fashionably fit campaign....
It's something I agree with so much, for me, getting outside and going jogging really takes some strength, if wearing make-up and doing your hair nice lets you do this then who cares!?
Seriously - if it gets you out there; then DO IT. (Get the Nike pun - i'm so smart ;))

I go jogging up the sea front, i'm so lucky to have such a beautiful place right on my doorstep..
Proves for some stunning scenery!

I chose black trainers, because, well, what beats black?
They're versatile and mean I can wear whatever tops and bottoms I wish!!
I plan on expanding my sports wear collection now I've got these beauties!
I wore my trusty super-dry hoodie because the sea air is really cold ha!
These jogging leggings are USA PRO, brought from sports direct - they're so comfortable.

The trainers are so light, but then, they really support my foot and aid to me to joy at the same time...
I felt nimble, quick and ready to go.
I can't actually believe how much of a difference they made to my performance and I'd actually buy these again and again.
For me, I feel as though the most important part of a jogging outfit is the trainers, and now I have these fashionable beauties, they're be no stopping me!!

*Although this is a PR Collaboration; all of the thoughts and opinions are completely that of my own.

Music Monday #16

They say hard work pays off, oui?
Well I sure do believe that!
I love nothing more than someone who writes their own songs and really puts their all into their music.
That's why this week's track is a stunning upbeat number from the stunning Claudia Kane.
This song was written, sung and completely created by her!
Check it out....

Hopeless Romantic.

Hello boooootiful people!!

Hope you all had a beautiful valentines day, single or taken.. :)
I think even if I wasn't in a relationship I'd hook up with my single girls for pizza and wine - I really don't think you have to associate valentines day with boyfriends/girlfriends but rather to just appreciate those people you have around you!! :)

I thought I'd be at placement all day, but after arriving at 8:30am, I found out it was teacher training day... Um, whooops!? I ended up going home on the same bus I arrived on. Doh!

So with an unexpected day off, me and boy enjoyed take-away, films and milkshake. Ma' kinda night!

I had this stunning Vera Wang perfume, it smells like drops of heaven, for real.

Hope you all had a lovely day- and if you didn't, then why not treat yourself to something special?
You deserve it ;)

OOTD | Mini Tartan Skirt

 ^ POSER.

|| Skirt: New Look | Belt: Primark | Jumper H&M ||

Hello lovelies, hope you're all well and the weather isn't disrupting you all to much.
Down here its been pretty calm today and we've actually had.... SUN. (I know, some have us may have forgotten what that is)
It leaves me very optimistic spring will soon be on its way.
(Mini happy dance)

To the outfit - I adore this outfit, its simple, yet sort of stylish, and ridiculously comfortable.
I don't ordinarily wear tight clothes so this skirt is actually a bit out my comfort zone which might sound a little mad to some of you!
But I'm sort of in a place where stepping out my comfort zone is a good thing and bringing me so new found confidence.
Woohoo.

Kisses,
Kelly.

Music Monday #14

Ahh so it's been a while since I've done one of these, I think it's time to take it back after after my little "blogging break" over January!
So kicking back of this week is a song I really can't stop listening to Say Something by A Great Big World.

You may have heard the newer version featuring Christina Aguilera
And as stunning as she is, and even though her voice is angelic, for me it just doesn't beat the original!

OOTD | Pink Polka-dot Pyjama's.

Bit of a different OOTD I guess.
They say bad things happen in threes, well, I've been diagnosed with a flu virus, chest infection, and bladder infection all at once!
The last week of so i've been so ill it's unreal, feeling i'd get better I didn't see a doctor until yesterday, but now i'm on many anti-biotics and well on the road to recovery.
When handing my prescription in there was a 40 minute wait, so off I totted to Primark and treated myself to a new Pyjama set. (I am ill after all).
So now, it's bed rest, Pyjamas, and Uni revision!

All Tangled Up.

Recently, my hair has been getting terribly tangled.
Probably as a result of the South West's 70 mph winds.
So, I popped into boots for a de-tangling spray, and stumbled across two L'Oreal products.
One formulated for kids, and L'Oreal Elvive smoothing de-tangling spray.
So I thought I'd do a little comparison of them both!

Title Fulfilment:
So, in terms of actually de-tangling my hair, the L'Oreal Elvive wins by a good few miles. I found my brush would quite happily glide through my hair with minimal tugging and less pain.
The Kids product was still good, just not quite as good.

Formula:
Both products leave very little residue in my hair, and I have no "Greasy" hair feeling from using either of them, which is absolutely brilliant. I would say the Kid's spray is a little more lighter and less "heavy" feel once sprayed, but afterwards, i'd say they're level pegging!

Smell:
The Kid's spray has a gorgeously fruity smell and smells amazing, it definitely wins.
The Elvive spray is still quite fruity and sweet, but just not the same.

Pump:
I think both are much alike!
The spray comes out fast and distributes evenly!

Packaging:
Okay the Elvive one sort of wins, but this is down to personal opinion. I like how classy the Elvive spray looks, but the Kid's spray is cute!

Both items can be found at boots! :)
