DIY | Ombre Shoes

So, i've seen this floating around youtube a lot and I thought why not give it a go!
I used a cheap pair of Primark shoes purely because I was worried I'd mess it up!

I removed the laces from the shoes because I didn't want these dyed to, then I coated the rubber in Vaseline, I don't think the dye would take to the rubber but its better to be safe than sorry!
I also brought a cute pair of socks from Primark that I decided to dye to.

Then follow the dye instructions to mix the dye!

I put the end of the shoes into my mixture, unfortunately they just kept floating! EEP. So me & April put some little bags in the bottom of the shoes to weight them down and keep them in the dye.
We left the shoes in the dye for 45 minutes, every ten minutes April got a sponge and gently worked the dye up the shoes in an ombre style.

After the 45 minutes, I put the shoes and socks in the bath, and rinsed thoroughly with cold water.
Then you simply pop your items into the washing machine (not with anything you don't want dyed though!) and walla, your perfectly dye items are complete!

I was really surprised how well it turned out, it looks just look any other professional dye!
I used a DYLON dye from my local haberdashery :)

What do you think?
