Leibster Award

Hi lovely's. So I'm been nominated for this a few times and never actually got around to composing one, so here it is! The Leibster Award, a little award us smaller bloggers dedicate to each other to not only spread the work about our blogs, but to show we are all appreciating new reads and new blogs, as well as sharing our favorites.

The lovely Natasha and Wanderlust & Babble nominated me with these questions!

1) What are your main reasons for blogging?
I love the community i've become part of, and I adore doing it,
I love creating posts and outfits, messing around with the way my blog looks. I just love it!

2) What are your plans for the next few years?
Shall we say 5? I will graduate my course, then hopefully do a PGCE and become a full time primary teacher. I hope to buy my first house and even become engaged to my lovely James!
Eventually, I hope to move abroad and soak up all the sun I can grab :_

3) What's your favourite song right now?
There are to many!
Lissie -Further away is really stuck in my head now.
My all time favourite is Noah & The Whale - L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N.

4) What's your favourite quote or one piece of advice that's stuck with you?
Life Goes On.
With or without you, if your happy or sad, life carries on.

5) If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
Apart from Hawaii, i'd go home back to Birmingham, i'm feeling a little lonely and homesick.

6) Name one thing you wish you could change about yourself.
I wouldn't know where to start.
My biggest thing would be my appearance, I'd give anything to be really pretty!

7) Name one thing you love about yourself (don't be modest, there's always something!)
I have the gift of gab, I can talk my way out of almost anything and have a way with words when I need to.

8) Which celebrity/figure do you admire the most?
Lea Michelle at the current moment, she is just so strong. My heart breaks for her.

9) If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
You will realize why you feel this way, and that it will get better, eventually.
Cryptic ;)

10) Do you prefer to surround yourself with people or  be alone?
It really depends on my mood actually. It changes constantly.

- - -

My Questions Are!

1) What's your favourite part of blogging?
2) Do you have favourite bloggers or do you change who to read daily?
3) Whats your favourite food?
4) Sun or Rain?
5) What would be the one thing you change about your life right now?
6) What would be the one thing about your life you keep the same?
7) If you could describe your fashion taste in three words, what words would you choose?
8) If you could only drink one drink for the rest of your life what would it be?
9) Whats you're ultimate none perfume related smell?

Feels like I haven't done an outfit post in forever!

I really love this outfit at the minute, its cute and perfect for summer.
I can't find sandals the fit my akward feet to white pumps are definitely the way forward for me.
I really adore this skirt, its a beautiful material and fits just perfectly!

I can't quite speak for where you are, but for me the weather will not stay constant here in Plymouth!
So I also teamed my outfit up with this jumper for when it gets a little chillier!

What do you guys think?

PS. Is it me or is my head getting bigger and bigger?
Not metaphorically, literally.

Home Improvement | Green Fingers

Well, where to start.
I was given a plant of a random lady on campus in my first year of university - my gorgeous yet slightliy troublesome cat completely demolished this plant.
And this huge beanstalk look plant has now grown in its place.
I have no idea what is is, but I like it.
Some other random plants have grown in the same since.
Amazing what will grow in just a pot of soil....
But with cramped conditions I decided to replant all my lovely plants!

Plant seeds and compost both from Pound-land.

You can see my tree plant on the photo's! Its craaazy tall.
I also had a sweet violet in the pot, of which i've transferred into the cute little watering can pot from pound-land!!

My lovely little cactus was a Christmas present,
The small white, red pot and purple pot given to me from a friend and look so cute!
The large white daisy post was thrifted for one whole squid!

I don't know much about gardening AT ALL.
All I know is:

1) Be GENTLE, with everything.

2) When you take the plant out, gently rub the outside of the plants roots to break them up a little.

3) When you place soil into the pot, use the back of your hand to keep compressing the soil down before planting.

Yup, thats it. Literally.

But It was a really fun thing to do and now my flat looks a lot more beautiful for doing such a simple little thing!

If you have any idea what my plant is LET ME KNOW!?

Thoughtful Thursday #1 | Money Woe's.

So behold, the start of my own little series.
"Thoughtful Thursday"
Of which each and *hopefully* every Thursday I will discuss something that has really been playing on my mind.

What a better place to start than money.

Some people, are very reserved with money, much like myself. We don't discuss our bank balances and keep our spending to ourselves.
Others - openly talk about their figures, whether it be big or small - and are incredibly vocal in how much they have.

My first approach has done me no good, so i'm going with the second.

I currently have -£1,204.38 in bank account.
You read right.
In fifty pounds time I am literally out of money.

Cus I know people are like; oh that's totally not a lot of debt.
Which no it isn't, but that's all the money I have.
I don't have anyone to rely on, that is literally as much money as I own.
When its gone, its gone.

Luckily its payday in a few and that'll get me through the month,
But do I want to be scrimping month to month?

I have a fear of cash machines.
I check my bank balance once every two months because I hate it so much.
I honestly have no idea what I am going to do.
I've started by selling my life on eBay.

So why is this such an issue all of a sudden?
And why, on this Thursday evening have I suddenly decided to speak out?
It's not all of a sudden, The stress keeps me awake at night.
My anxiety has been spiraling so out of control I just don't know what to do with myself.
I feel lost, alone and scared.
If my other half where to ever find out I think we'd argue to bad we'd break up.
His very, VERY good with money.
But nothing he does seems to help me.

My phone is broken, me thinking i'm clever, I have insurance.
With "Protect your bubble"
I call them up.
They tell me I will have to pay £180 to get my phone repaired.
I have to pay off the entirety of my insurance for the year AND THEN £50.00 access.
What. A. Joke.

I can't max out my overdraft any more.

I know what your thinking, why didn't she read the small print?
I read the small print. But documents and words do this muddly thing in my brain and I just though that I had to pay that to cancel.
I'm just an idiot.
Well, I'm not but I feel as though I am.

So here I am, over £1000.00 into my overdraft, no phone, and mental wreck.

Where's all that money go?
For starters, clothes.
I'm an actual shopaholic,
I'm not just throwing this term around, I genuinely am.
I feel sad? New dress.
Bad day at work? New shoes.
I'm bored? New everything.
Even today I went shopping after finding out how much of a mess I was in.
Its the only thing that seems to calm me down.
The feel of new fabrics and excitement of a new look on me just takes over.
The thought of actually being able to improve my appearance by the clothes I wear just takes over my brain and bank card and I come home feeling horrific.
I. just. cant. help. it.
I've tried. I've been battling with this for years.
& eventually its all caught up with me.

But food, doctors bills, my money just evaporates.
And in all honesty, everyone else I know gets some form of financial support of their parents,
Whether it be food for money, gifts they want or paying rent.
I'm doing this whole thing completely on my own.

Why am I telling you this?
A few reasons.

a) Perhaps if I talk more openly about my problem, i'll feel more pressurized to fix it, because you guys will know if I don't. If I give regular updates perhaps it'll spur me on to do better. The fear of causing disappointment is a powerful thing.

b) Perhaps someone out there can offer me some advice and tips, help me out. Relate to me.

c) I'm sure you beautiful people will help me all the way.

d) If I post regular updates, It'll encourage me to carry on saving, get out of the red and into the green.

e) And if I can just reach one person out there to do the same and begin to wise up and stop spending, we can do this together.

- - - - -

So here is my plan of action.

1) Use the hell out of eBay.
2) Book an appointment with my banker and see what or how they can help.
3) Work every hour I can possibly scavenge.
5) Take a small amount of cash out each week and leave my card locked away at home.
6) Constantly check my balance to illiterate how much i'm in the dog house to encourage me to get out of it.

SO here it is.
My first, slightly morbid, Thoughtful Thursday.
And lets really hope this is the start of something new.

Any hints or tips kindly appreciated in the box below!

Review | Melvita Skin Care*

I was recently gifted this beautiful little set,
Due some horrific sunburn I haven't been able to test these little beauties out for a while, but rest assured it was worth the wait!

Melvitage states that:
MELVITA is a pioneer in organic beauty and has grown to become one of France’s leading brands of natural and organic cosmetics. Resolutely organic. Because we are convinced that an organic commitment is one of the keys to the future of the planet.

Organic for me is a strong pull factor,
Call me old fashioned but I believe that nature is the power to healing and we should tap into these resources rather than artificial products that haven;' been around long enough to fully understand the affects.

I don't think about this to much but I do believe organic products are the best.

Anyways, in my beautiful little set there was a night cream, day cream and water cleanser.
Firstly, the smell is AMAZING.

The night cream is Argan & Olive  extracts and it quite a thick consistency, I like this for a night cream as I like to feel as though the cream lingers through my sleep to work more effectively.

The day cream is a lighter, less viscous and perfect for a day to day basis. The cream has Rose extract and therefore smells JUST like roses, it's definitely my favourite out the bunch. It feels like on your face and doesn't clog your skin down - which is ideal for a day moisturizer.

My skin felt incredibly soft after using these products, and after around three days I could notice quite a difference in the glow and radiance of my skin.
I'm currently using No.7's day and night cream and Melvita for me works a considerable amount better!
It's perfect for summer and I really love the products.

The cleansing water is suitable for sensitive skin, Ideal for removing your daily grime!
The perfect blend of being gentle whilst removing make-up, this micellar water is a win. My skin felt refreshed and hydrated after adding this little beauty to a cotton wool pad! This also smells incredibly florally, I really love the floral smell of the items, some may find this a little overpowering but actually really love it!

All the products I've review have been certified by Ecocert which supports sustainable product development and production whilst supporting the use of organic products.

All in all,
Melvita products look pretty, smell pretty, and work pretty great!

You can check out Melvita's beautiful items HERE.

Birthday Bash.

I must of had the best birthday of my whole life so far!
Having my family and James around me being by the sea was just the perfect combination, it being the hottest day of the year was just a bonus!

My family spent the Saturday and Sunday down here,
Saturday we took a walk down the sea front and dipped our toes in the sea!

I super love this picture of my Mum & Dad!

We had a lovely little walk around the barbican, my Dad brought me this hand crafted Padington Bear, (I'm really obsessed with him!).

On the evening we went to the cutest little pub for beer garden drink, and I prepared my face for my Birthday!
Loved this Avocado face mask!

We chilled, watched Mama Mia and had a great night!

Present time YEY! Had some absolutely beautiful things, will be blogging separately soon!

What would a birthday be without a homemade cake?
Took us a long time to make mind you!!

We finished off my perfect day with a BBQ, lovely walk around the sea and many, many laughs.
I couldn't have asked for a better day!
I also have my beautiful new camera yey! Will dedicate a post to the beauty soon.

I loved my little holiday, I couldn't have asked for a better birthday!
Thank you to my family, friends and James.

OOTD | Birthday

Dress: H&M | Necklace: Accessorize | Shoes: Primark | Anklet: Market Stall | Bracelets: Pandora/Thomas Sabo/Market Stall | Belt: Primark | Ring: Topshop/Inherited | Hair Garland: Claires Accessories

Just a quick post today on my Birthday Outfit!
Having an absolutely amazing birthday so far. The best yet :)
Ordinarily I would think about what to wear for days on end, but today I just slung this together and love it.
The dress cost me a whole £1.00 (yes, 100p) from H&M and I love the colour, I think American Apparel do something really similar.
I'd much rather wear pumps than sandles, I have really tall AND wide feet and sandals cripple me,
I love orange, and i;ve teamed it with all my beautiful daisy accessories for a perfect summer look!

Off to the beach!
